The home-garden-and-kitchen designers

Everyone knows them, the cousin of your friend who has a hacked version of the mast collection of Adobe on his computer and pretends to be a graphic designer. And if you now think, huh? I do not know this person … We are maybe talking about you …
We do not want to bash these people, we just want to explain why many serious design agencies resent their presence. The thing is, simply put, they break the market system.
The good thing about the “designer” profession is that you do not necessarily need any training. You are a designer or you are not. It is obviously a bit arrogant to say about someone, you are not a designer but there are simply people who take themselves quite seriously despite not fully understand what comes with being a designer. Because they do not fully understand how the designer market works, for example, they often charge less or even work for free … This makes people think that “real” designers have absurdly high prices.

Moreover, a graphic designer has technical knowledge and expertise. A design can look very beautiful on screen, but if you wrongly export the PDF to the printing agency or do not double-check whether everything is correct, the end product will roll messed up out of the printer. In addition, the saying “the devil is in the details” is a popular quote in the designer world for a reason. Spacing, alignment, and colour are all essential to make your design into a good result. Of course we also miss something sometimes, but we know what the problem is and we can fix it ourselves. We often see that the home-designers do not possess such technical knowledge. And that is not a bad thing, but it is not quite fair to show off with the title of a graphic designer… because it entails a lot more than just coming up with a nice picture.
So we want to ask all creative minds calling themselves designers, to think about what exactly they are doing. Because either way you are breaking the market. Two points of advice: stop it or think about enrolling for a DTP course, not to embarrass yourself and your customers …
Now you will probably say, ‘Of course you say that a home- designer breaks the market and is not a real designer! You want everyone to come to KACE. ” Well. Yes and no. We ourselves are hobbyists too, but with a degree. A “real” designer takes pleasure in his work and will not mind working some extra hours and not bill you for it because what we ultimately want is that our customer is happy with a well-developed design.
We certainly understand that a customer wants to spend less money on advertisement, but what many people forget is that your advertising is linked to the image of your business.
And let’s face it, you would also rather have a well-developed design from KACE Design, than a of a half-half drawing of that one cousin of that good friend of yours ..!
